CLAUDE DEBUSSY

​PREMIÈRE RHAPSODIE

1910

Claude Debussy (1862-1918) is remembered in music history as one of the leading of Impressionism. This movement in music and art is characterized by lush colors and textures, and great subtleties of shape and contour. In art, the paintings of Claude Monet (1840-1926)

As is the case with many other compositions for clarinet by the great masters, Debussy composed the Première Rhapsodie towards the end of his life ,The this pieces used for examination and compettition for admission to paris conservatoire in 1910 , The Première Rhapsodie is dedicated to Prospère Mimart (1859-1928), He is the professor of clarinet at the Paris Conservatoire from 1904-1918. Mimart ha premiere performance on January 16, 1911.

MIKLÓS RÓZSA
SONATINA FOR CLARINET SOLO, OP. 27

1951

Miklós Rózsa he was born in Budapest on 18 April 1907 and He died in Los Angeles on 27 July 1995 His mother taught him to play a piano ( Rózsa's mother was a classmate of Bela Bartok's) 
Began he composing at the age of 7 and next he studied composition at the Leipzig Conservatory with Grabner
Rózsa enjoyed writing for film scores and Hungarian folk music
Clarinet sonatina,Op.27 written in 1951 he compose in two movement , First Movement is Theme and Variations and Second Movement is Vivo e giocoso and he writtenfor clarinet in Bb or A Clarinet it’s not specified , This Clarinet Sonatina was the first piece of several unaccompanied pieces he wrote throughout his lifetime and Rozsa he writting style was heavily influenced by Hungarian Folk song music , Which tends to be unaccompanied That style inspiration him to the write for unaccompanied instruments,This work is reminiscent of the last twomovement of Three pieces for clarinet solo by Igor Stravinsky this pieces is clarinet solo unaccompanied , Pitch and Dynamic register in the first movement and the grace notes and subtle a jazzy mood form the second movement
